Introduction
Correlator is an interactive workstation software product for displaying and depth-shifting/merging multiple-hole core.
The program serves four main functions:
- COMPOSITING - Depth-shifting of multiple-hole core data
- SPLICING - Construction of complete, spliced sequences from multiple-hole data
- LOG-CORE INTEGRATION - Reconstruction of core data by comparing core data curve with log data curve
- AGE MODEL AND TIMESERIES DEVELOPMENT - Display bio-stratigraphic and magneto-stratigraphic age control data, Generate continuous time-series records, applied time series to the spliced data records

Status
Vers. 1.64 Release Note.
- Latest stable version
- Export affine table that includes any "missing cores" --so we check to see where there is a core missing numerically (even though a Core Catcher may exist) and include that in affine table and apply the previous cores offset automatically.
- Fixed a bug in Splice that had resulted from users re-compositing of cores after splice was already made. Now, all splice cores adjust automatically and correctly to reflect depth adjustments in splice so its kept intact.
- Re-done how tie points are visually made so that they are easier to control either by mouse or keyboard. This is true for compositing, splicing, and core-log integration.
- All tie point locations are now retained visually along with affine offsets so you can see where all tie points have been made while you're working. No more guessing when all cores below option and core data's color is changed.
- There are 3 New Function Keys that are nice visual enhancements.
"d" = Collapsed view of core data by data type so that you can quickly see how well all cores are composited. For example, if you have 3 cores of natural gamma data for A, B, and C holes, other 2 core data sets will overlap on A hole data so you can see them together as long as you hold down "d". "s" = Holding down "s" will show you section boundaries for each core so will allow you to avoid end points on sections if necessary or to check where repetitive spikes might be occurring, etc... "alt" = Holding this key will give you a straight line with which to check horizontal alignment of features.
- Improved manual Core-Log integration, it now allows you to bring over entire A, B, or C hole data rather than core by core to make manual correlations (tie points). Location of core-log manual ties are now shown on composite side cores once applied to the data.
- Improved optimization of correlation's for evaluation graph and interpolated depth step calculations.
- Compatible with Microsoft Vista
